We're pleased to offer the following services in our Lakeville Veterinary Clinic:
Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency.
We have a veterinarian and personnel on duty 6 days a week who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent care your pet has. Usually an emergency team consists of at least one veterinarian and several technicians working together to save a pet's life. Emergencies can be things such as mouse bait poisoning, hit by car, and chocolate ingestion. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment do not hesitate to call or come in immediately. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a team member can advise you on your particular emergency.
We are also available for urgent care when the condition is not life-threatening, but you feel your pet needs to be seen before you are able to get an appointment. Our veterinarians will work to "squeeze" you in between scheduled appointments. When you arrive, our receptionists will be able to give you an estimate on how long you may have to wait in order to be seen.
Our Doctors perform oral exams on your pet. They check for numerous tooth and gum issues. If an issue is seen they will recommend a dental cleaning. If it is a more severe issue they may recommend cleaning and extractions. The technicians often perform the dental cleanings and the Doctors extract any teeth that are warranted..
Our Doctors perform surgeries such as spays, neuters, mass removals, cystyotomy, urinary catherizations and other soft tissue surgeries. Most patients will be released later the same day. For orthopedic surgeries we are able to have Dr.Clark, a board certified surgeon, comes in and perform these. Such surgeries include ccl repairs, patella luxation repairs , FHO , as well as some more speciality warranted surgeries.
We have the abilty to perform on site radiographs.
Dr. Stamoulis, a board certified cardiologist and ultrasonographer, comes into our clinic approximately every two weeks to peform ultrasounds.
In House Lab
Our in house lab can be used to perform bloodwork on sick animals so that we can get immediate results. We are also able to run pre anesthetic blood work on the day of surgical procedures. Certain tests still need to be sent to an outside lab. Generally we receive results from these labs in less than 3 days.
Our office manager is an experienced groomer with over 25 years of experience. Grooming appointments are made through her and are generally on one or two specific days of the week. For some animals that may require sedation, we are able to do so in order to groom them.
There are some services that do not require a Dr. appointment and can generally be done by the technicians. Some examples are:
Anal Gland expression
Drain and suture removals
Bordatella , Lyme ,Leptospirosis Vaccines and some second vaccines. These are usually only done by the technician if the Dr. has examined the animal within the year.

I'm so pleased with the experience I had at lakeville animal hospital. I am traveling with my dog from northern Maine to visit family and my dog had been sick for 3 days. She couldn't keep any food or water down. Long story short I called lakeville animal hospital and they were able to squeeze Aspen in later on in the day. Turns out the reason Aspen had been sick was that she had atleast one blockage in her intestines. They immediately sent us to a 24 hour emergency vet in Swansea for a surgery. Aspen is now out of surgery with 2 incisions in her intestines and 1 in her stomach. Being a long way from home with a sick puppy is not fun and is quite stressful. But I'm thankful the crew at lakeville animal hospital was able to see her so soon, take X-rays, give her a diagnosis, and make a recommendation for a 24 hour surgery facility.
